Ministries

 

Audio-Visual

There are many ways to contribute to the worship in the church.  We can prophesy, lead in thanksgiving and praise, and we can record the worship services so that others may benefit from God's Word.  God wants all of His people to participate in the worship services. (1 Chronicles 25:1)

Baptism

This Ministry is aware that the most important prerequisite for any kind of Christian Service is to be filled with faith and the power of the Holy Spirit. By the Spirit's power, this particular ministry exercises the gifts that God has given them as they assist the pastor in the Most Holy Ordination of our church. (Luke 3:21-22, Acts 6:8-10, and John 1:25-26)

Baptist Career Women

This Ministry persuades people, through loving words and caring actions, to commit themselves to God.  It demonstrates how everyone can have a personal relationship with God. It teaches us about god's love and His forgiveness, and the promise of eternal life. (2 Samuel 20:15-17)

Bible Study

This Ministry emphasizes that were are to study the Bible so that we can obey God and grow in His service.  To obey, we must meditate on God's Word day and night.  Therefore, frequent Bible Study is required.  By studying the Bible on a regular basis, we are able to avoid error and false teachings.  (2 Timothy 2:15 and 1 John 4:1-6)

Brotherhood

This Ministry emphasizes that all Christian Men are part of God's Family. (1 Corinthians 1:10)

Counting Ministry

This Ministry represents a Biblical Tradition of Gatekeepers as they handle the church's tithes and offerings in an honest and reliable manner. (1 Chronicles 9:17-27)

Crisis Ministry

This Ministry focuses on giving and sharing with those in need. The special unity brought by the Holy Spirit equips this Ministry with an attitude that everything we have comes from God. (Acts 4:32-35)

Diaconate

The word "Deacon" means "one who serves". The Deacons are leaders in the church who are to assist the pastor in Spiritual Matters, and they must be spiritually mature and wise. They are persons who have been ordained and commissioned by prayer and the "laying on of hands" to assist with the Spiritual Leadership of the Church. (1 Timothy 3:8-13)

Drama

This Ministry stresses the significance of the essential relationship between words and works, faith and life, character and conduct. (Ephesians 4:12)

Evangelism

The focus of this Ministry is to make sure that the Spiritual leaders understand that the ultimate goal of life is to be in the right relationship with god and help lead other to Jesus Christ.   (Matthew 28:19-20 and Acts 1:8)

Flower Ministry

This Ministry lets people know that they are loved and appreciated.  This builds lasting relationships and helps the people to know that they are valued as part of the fellowship of the church family.  (Numbers 10:29-32)

Food Service

When we see someone in need, we should remember that Jesus said the hungry should be treated fairly and mercifully. Our Food Service Ministry works diligently to help reach out to those in need of food within the church and the community. (Psalms 37:25)

History

This Ministry has the responsibility of recording and maintaining documents and artifacts depicting the historical event of the church. This is to ensure that a record of the church's history is preserved. (2 Kings 22:8-13)

Hosts and Hostesses

Christian hospitality focuses on everyone. This includes their needs, i.e., a place to worship, use of our church, nourishing food, a listening ear, or acceptance in our church.  (Romans 12:9-13)

Information Technology / Publicity

This Ministry recognizes that accomplishment through communication requires organization in order to maintain Spiritual Nurturing for the entire congregation. (Numbers 2:1-2)

Library

Scripture reveals that organization is the Holy task of ordering and administering human and material resources as those monitored by this Ministry. (Genesis 41:39-40)

Lord's Supper

This Ministry must keep in mind that Christians participate in Christ's once-for-all-sacrifice when they eat of the bread and drink of the wine which symbolizes His Body and Blood. Therefore, they should pray before, during, and after the preparation of the Lord's Supper Table. (1 Corinthians 10:14-21)

Maise-Inman Scholarship Fund

This scholarship fund recognizes the importance of education for our young people as they strive to become contributing citizens in both the church and the surrounding community. (Deuteronomy 6:4-9)

Music

This Ministry emphasized that music and worship go hand in hand. Worship should involve the whole person, and music helps lift a person's thoughts and emotions to God. (Psalm 81:1- 4).

New Disciples Orientation

The goal of this Ministry is to teach others and commission them to reach others to become disciples as Jesus commanded. (Matthew 28:18-20)

Nominating Ministry

This Ministry should always be cognizant that church leaders should be chosen because of their respect for God's Truth, both in and what they believe and how they live.  New believers should become secure and strong in their faith before taking leadership roles in the church. New believers should have a place of service, but should not be put into leadership position until they are firmly grounded in their faith, with a solid Christian life-style and knowledge of the Word of God.  (1 Timothy 3:1-6)

Nursery

This Ministry helps the children to grow spiritually because this is vital to their understanding of what Jesus is like. (Proverbs 22:6)

Pastoral Relations

This Ministry recognizes that they are to "lift up the hands" of our Spiritual Leaders, they are to shoulder some of the leaders' responsibilities, and they should give words of encouragement and offer intercessory prayer for these leaders. These are all ways of refreshing and supporting our Spiritual leaders in their work for god's church. (Exodus 17:10-13)

Personnel Ministry

This Ministry recognizes that Christian Leaders and Employers are to treat their Employees fairly and with respect as this will encourage responsibility and integrity.  (Ephesians 6:5-9)

Pioneer Clubs

This Ministry illustrates that we grow spiritually when we realize that we have been saved by God's Grace.  This spiritual growth is a spiritual transformation that begins from the inside and results in outward righteousness as it demonstrates what God can do. (Colossians 3:16)

Properties

This Ministry is aware that the physical care of the church requires a long list of tasks.  These tasks are all vital to the Ministry of the church and have an important role in our worship of God.  (Exodus 40:17-33)

Recreation

This Ministry realizes that god gave Sabbath rest and fellowship time to his people for their welfare and relaxation.  (Genesis 2:1-3, Mark 2:27, and Acts 2:41-47)

Security

This Ministry ensures that the safety of the church as they stand watch and keep the entire church from approaching danger.  (Ezekiel 3:16-17)

Senior Adults

This Ministry stresses that senior adults are quite valuable in the crusade for winning souls to Christ. (Titus 2:1-8)

Social Concerns

This Ministry demonstrates through their efforts that God's provision to us is also meant to become His provision through us to continue His work in the world. (2 Corinthians 9:8)

Stewardship (Finance) Ministry

This Ministry is responsible for the overall financial care of the church.  The Holy Spirit empowers them to do God's will as they complete specific tasks in the church. (1 Chronicles 12: 16-18)

Sunday Church School

This Ministry's goal is to present the Word Of God so that we can teach others.  The principles of Sunday School emphasize the importance of studying the Bible so that we may express love for god and His Word. We are also to study with an open mind and love for truth. (Acts 17:11, Ephesians 4:12, and Hebrews 5:12)

Transportation Ministry

This Ministry demonstrates an attitude of servant hood as they serve and care for those they are called to lead. (Mark10:45)

Board of Trustees

The Trustees are the legal officers for the church, holding in trust the property of the church. As such they have been delegated the responsibility for overseeing the business matters of the church. They are to make sure the job is done as they build God's values into the church community. (2 Chronicles 19:4-10)

Ushers

This Ministry has been called to serve as the "doorkeeper" in the Sanctuary of God. The doorkeeper is a "position of humility", a "position of grace", and a "position of love".  This Ministry represents Jesus Christ by being an extension of His heart and hands to those who enter our Sanctuary.  (Psalms 84:10)

Welcoming

The efforts of this Ministry is an active and much appreciated way to show the love of the church as they greet everyone to worship together.(3 John 5-8)

Women's Missionary Union (WMU)

This Ministry illustrates that responsibility is the heart of missions as it responds to others in need. This is done by using the Gifts God has entrusted to them. (Isaiah 6:8)

Young Adults

This Ministry builds up young adult families and leaders by acknowledging their quality service to the Lord. (2 Chronicles 30:22)

Youth Ministry

The leaders of this Ministry view our young people as God's future leaders.  They provide them with Christian Education so that they will serve the Lord. (Psalm 22:30-31).
